About Wildlife Conservation Society

The Wildlife Conservation Society is a nonprofit organization that works to conserve over two million square miles of wild places around the world. The organization was founded by 5 individuals back in 1895 and is headquartered in New York, New York. Cristian Samper, a tropical biologist, has served as this organization’s President and CEO since 2012. The Wildlife Conservation Society maintains about 500 field conservation projects throughout 65 different countries. The organization also has 200 Ph.D. scientists on staff. In addition to the Bronx Zoo, the Wildlife Conservation Society manages 4 other New York City wildlife parks. Some of the main focuses of this organization include global conservation, zoos and aquariums, climate crisis, and health programs. To help fund the many efforts of the Wildlife Conservation Society, donations are always accepted, but the organization offers several different membership options as well. These memberships give different perks and benefits to members in return for their support. There are membership packages that have been designed for individuals, couples, and families. The memberships give members access to the zoos and aquariums managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society, as well as admission to other related local attractions and discounts on paring, food, and additional tickets for guests. The cost and benefits of the memberships depend on which packages are purchased. The price for each package is on an annual basis and ranges from $60 up to $390 per year. There are also packages available for aquariums only, which range from $150 to $170 per year. For those who wish to heavily support this organization, there are larger packages that include everything previously mentioned, as well as additional perks and benefits. These packages are called the Conservation Fellow package and the Conservation Partner package, which cost $525 and $800 per year respectively. Lastly, supporters may become a Conservation Patron, which consists of annual contributions ranging from $1500 to $24,999 per year. To cancel any of these memberships, follow the instructions shown on this page.
