The company was founded in 2005 and was acquired in 2013 by j2 Global. j2 Global is based in Hollywood, California and was founded in 1995 by Jaye Muller and Jack Rieley. MextroFax’s services are available for their customers to use via email, their website, or a mobile application on Android or iOS devices. The service includes inbound and outbound fax service, the ability to send faxes to multiple recipients at the same time, the ability to use an existing fax number for customers that have one, and the ability to choose a local fax number in your area code or a toll-free fax number for those customers that do not already have a fax number. International fax service does exist with MetroFax though there is an additional charge for using this feature. A 30 day free trial to the service is available for new customers, and ongoing plans are available in three membership levels that can be paid monthly or annually. The Essential plan includes 500 pages of faxed documents sent or received for $7.95 per month or $79.50 per year. The Value plan includes 1000 pages for $12.95 per month or $129.50 per year. Finally, the Professional plan includes 2500 pages for $35.95 per month or $359.50 per year. Additional pages over your plan allotment are $0.03 per page on all plans. All MetroFax plans have no minimum commitment and can be cancelled at any time, though cancelling your plan will result in the loss of your stored faxed documents.
