Archives is a genealogy research site owned by the Ancestry.com LLC parent company. Ancestry was founded by Paul Brent Allen and Dan Taggart in 1983 with an initial focus on Latter-Day Saint publications and family history research. Over the years the company expanded its focus to include more general research and DNA testing for genealogical purposes and has acquired several other websites and companies along the way including Archives in 2012. Archives is focused on providing access to online archives of newspapers dating from 1700 forward including over 8,600 newspapers for a total of over 394 million pages of newspaper archives. Users may view various types of newspaper content, including birth and death notifications, marriage announcements, and other articles as part of their family history searches. Membership trials are available for new users of Archives.com. When signing up initially, a member may choose to take advantage of a 14-day trial that is offered at no charge. If the account is not cancelled within those 14 days however, the account will convert to a paid monthly membership. Monthly memberships provide a user with full access to the entire library of archived items included on the site as well as the ability to create or upload their family tree as part of their research. Monthly memberships to Archives are billed every 30 days automatically until cancelled by the member for the monthly cost of $9.99 and will be charged automatically each month to the card on file. 3. Let the rep know that you’re calling to cancel
4. Give the rep your account info when they ask
5. Request to be refunded
6. Request proof of your transaction in the form of an email or confirmation number
